I’ve jotted down a few Wedding day tips for the bride & groom to help you ROCK your wedding day
Tip No 1-Be A Guest At Your Own Wedding .
No matter how long the planning stage, when the day comes, it’s on. Everything’s already been discussed, settled and arranged. Now’s the time to let go of control and be your own guest. It’s a lot more fun that way, and you can both really be in the moment and enjoy the hours with each other and your family and friends
Tip No 2- Spend time with your partner
This may sound like a given, but don’t forget to spend time with your new husband/wife! Many bride and groom’s get carried away trying to please their guests and keep the party going. But remember why you’re there: to celebrate this day with the person you love. Grab your newlywed and take it all in – it goes by in a flash!
Tip No 3- Grooms should make a list of all the things they need to do on the morning of the wedding.
Bridesmaids are great at helping a bride remember everything. Groomsmen are less helpful in this regard, though they are more likely to bring beer.
Tip No 4-Don’t sweat it when something goes wrong
Inevitably, something will go wrong on the wedding day, and hopefully its only something minor. Chances are, given the months and sometimes years of wedding planning you’ve done, you will be the only one who notices it. Most of your guests won’t notice if something isn’t quite as you’d planned and even if they do notice, they won’t mind. They are there to see you and your fiancé get married. If at the end of the day, you are married, that’s what matters, don’t sweat the small stuff.
Tip No 5-Make a five-minute dinner date.
Taking the time to enjoy a full meal is almost impossible with so many guests clamoring for your attention, but a five-minute dinner date — where you grab a few bites and enjoy your new spouse’s company — is more manageable.
Tip No 6- Prepare for rain
Let’s face it – it’s Melbourne, and rain is always a possibility! If you’ll be outside at any point, even if just walking from the car to the entrance of your venue, make sure you check the forecast and pack lots of large umbrellas to keep yourself and your bridal party high and dry if necessary!
Tip No 7- Lets Talk about shoes
Ladies, you’ll definitely want to make sure you wear in your brand new heels prior to your wedding day. You don’t want your feet to be aching all night. Also, remember to bring a pair of flats or sandals on the day of the wedding.
Tip No 8–Don’t Forget to eat
Whatever you do, make sure you and your bridal party get something in your stomach before the wedding. The bridal party may be busy running around coordinating last minute details, and brides and grooms often get nervous and avoid eating altogether. It’s a long day of celebration, and not eating can easily lead to feeling queasy and light-headed, or even fainting on the altar! A good, easy idea is to have something like a sandwich platter out while everyone is getting ready.
Tip No 9–Do a first look
It was one of the best decisions me and my wife made during our wedding planning. Our photographer and family collaborated and found a secluded area, away from all the madness that was going on that morning; we got a moment to see each other for the first time. It allowed us to take a deep breath, let the moment sink in, feel all the emotion we were about to feel all day. No matter what you decide, the important thing is choosing what’s right for you as a couple
Your only job on your wedding day should be to enjoy your day, that’s it!
Have faith in the professionals that you’ve hired.
From your hair & make up right up until the band is playing at your reception, if you’re using reputable wedding vendors & suppliers then relax, we know what we’re doing.
Don’t fall into the trap of trying to take on too much, I have witnessed this and it doesn’t make for great images.
If you’re stressed on your wedding day then this will come across in your wedding photos.
I have a wonderful network of vendors that I recommend and love to work with, in fact you might find this hard to believe but we as wedding suppliers actually love weddings too !
So sit back, enjoy the pampering and know that when I turn up to photograph your wedding that I’ve already thought about where we’ll be shooting, I know how long it will take for you and your bridesmaids to get ready.
I also know that when I turn up to the boys that they’ll have trouble with their ties, we’ll possibly be missing a groomsmen and at least one of the boys will still have price tags hanging off his suit.
So my tip here is to enjoy your day, have faith in your suppliers, don’t stress about the things that you can’t control and your wedding photos will be amazing!
